Player Registration

USTA Northern California League Player Registration

Mixed 2010 players:  Please Note.
Rosters will not be open until after the publication of 2010 Year End Ratings. We expect National USTA to release these by December 4. You will see your new rating posted on your Player Page with the 2010 date. Please come back to this program then to join your team.

Hey, Players:

This program is just for you.  If your captain has told you to get your name on the team roster, you're in the right place. You do not need any Access Code or PIN. The link at the bottom of this page will get you started on these easy steps. You should not join a team unless you have talked to the captain.

When you register for a team, be sure to provide an accurate email address. We need this to provide you with a password that allows you to log on to your team page and provide your captain(s) with information about your availability for matches. You will receive more information about this when your team schedule has been published.

Membership
Every player must have a USTA membership that extends through the local league season, including the month of playoffs.

Through 7/31/2010 for Adult League.
Through 7/31/2010 for Super Senior-65 League.
Through 10/31/2009 for FiftyMixed  and Super Senior-60 Leagues.
Through 11/30/2009 for Combo League.
Through 3/31/2010 for Senior 2010.
Through 5/31/2010 for Mixed 2010.
If you do not have a membership, or if your membership expires before the end of the season, please call our NY Membership Office at 1 800 990 USTA. DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE, because it usually takes one business day (not weekends!) for your membership to be updated to our database, and until you are listed on a NorCal roster, you cannot play. Call us at the office if you need help with this.

Out of Section Memberships
If your USTA membership is from a section other than Northern California, the number is not in our database. Please call our East Coast Membership Office at 1 800 990 USTA and give them your current California/Nevada address. It usually takes one business day for your membership to be transferred to our database. Please check back.

Age
Minimum age:

Adult, Combo and Mixed Doubles Leagues 2010: beginning with our 2010 League season: 18 years old. Anyone born before 1/1/1993 may join these teams and play right away.*
Combo 2010: 18 years old
Super Senior-65:  65 years old
Super Senior-60:  60 years old
FiftyMixed and Senior League: 50 years old

Each player shall have reached the minimum age for his league, prior to or during the calendar year in which such player plays his/her first match.

*High School tennis team players may be affected by CIF/NCS rules. They should check with their HS coach before joining a league team.

Ratings
Computer ratings are valid for three years or two years, depending on your age.

For our 2010 leagues:
For players under 60 years of age, any computer rating from 2008, 2009 or 2010 is valid.
For players 60 or older, any computer rating from 2009 or 2010 is valid.

Out of Section Ratings
If you have come to NorCal from another section and you have a valid rating from that section, that is the rating you will use.

Please use this link to confirm that you have a rating:  http://tennislink.usta.com/leagues/reports/NTRP/FindRating.asp and then contact the office and we will post it for you.

Then you may proceed with the registration process.

Self ratings
The computer will read your membership number when you enter it, and if you have no rating, or if your rating has expired, you will be directed to the Self Rating program.

If you are asked to self rate, you must be very accurate. If you are in doubt about your rating, it is safer to choose the higher rating. The program allows either the player to do the self rating, or the captain to do it for him. In either case, should your rating be challenged during the season, both you and the captain will be held responsible for its accuracy and both you and the captain are subject to sanctions if a challenge against your rating is upheld. You may not self rate if you have a valid rating from another section, but ratings from other sections are NOT in our database.  Do not self rate.  Please contact us right away so we can confirm and post your rating.  See Out of Section Ratings, above.

Move Up/Split Up rule for former Section Championship team players
Are you a member of last season's winning Section Champion team?  There may be restrictions on the number of players who can join this team. Please refer to our Local League Area Regulations, rule #21 to confirm that this rule does not affect your eligibility for this team.

To register for a team

1. Find your team.  Using the link at the bottom of this page, enter the first few letters of your CTA (Community Tennis Organization) or club or team name and you will see a page of team names. Click on your team name (left hand column).

2. Click the PLAYER REGISTRATION button in the upper right hand corner of your Team Information Page.  You will need to enter your membership number and pay the player registration fee.  You can use Discover, Mastercard or Visa.

This fee is not refundable. If a player who has not played for the team has his captain remove his name from the roster prior to the end of the season, he will receive a credit less $3.00, and this credit is automatically applied to his next league team registration fee.

Thanks for participating in USTA NorCal League tennis.  We wish you season filled with good competition and a lot of fun.
