2015 Board of Directors Election

The Annual Meeting of USTA Northern California will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the USTA Northern California office, 1920 North Loop Road, Alameda, CA. The Association has appointed Corporate Election Services to serve as the independent Inspector of Election for the 2015 Annual Meeting. Corporate Election Services will collect proxy forms and ballots, tabulate votes and report final voting results. Read More

Michaela Gordon Captures Singles & Doubles Crown at 51st Coffee Bowl

Congratulations to NorCal’s own Michaela Gordon who took the championship trophy not once, but TWICE, at the 51st Coffee Bowl held in in Costa Rica January 5-10. She won the Singles championship by defeating No. 16 in the world, Sofia Kenin (USA), in the semi-finals (who previously won the Orange Bowl in December 2014) and defeating No. 22 Usua Maitane Arconada (USA) in the finals. Stanford Players Share Tips, Have Fun with NorCal Youth at Family Tennis Festival

More than 300 people converged on Taube Tennis Center at Stanford University for this first-ever event which paired youth players of all ages and ability levels with the members and coaches of both the Cardinal men’s and women’s tennis teams for a day of interactive instruction, games and fun. NorCal’s Junior Party: A Fun-filled Night Celebrating Player and Team Achievements in 2014

It didn’t matter if it was a player celebrating their first season in orange ball competition or a player who made international headlines at the US Open. At this year’s NorCal Junior Awards Party it was all about having fun with friends and celebrating the past year in junior competition at all levels. USTA NorCal Remembers Hall of Famer Jean Parsons Harris

Jean Parsons Harris, 97, passed away peacefully on January 4 surrounded by family after a long and active life. Jean was born October 15, 1917, in Phoenix, Arizona to her parents Marjorie Leavell Parsons and Roland Henry Parsons. In Tempe, Arizona, she attended elementary school, attended Phoenix High School, and then went on to Phoenix Junior College in the building right next door. Read More

NorCal Juniors Shine at USTA Winter National Championships

USTA Northern California juniors scored gold, silver and bronze balls at the 2014 USTA Winter National Championships that featured a 128-player field of the best players in the country in the 18s, 16s, 14s, and 12-and-under age divisions. NorCal especially shined in the 12s and 14s competitions, which took place December 27-January 2 in Tucson. Read More
