As of January 1, 2013, USTA NorCal adopted the Junior Development Pathway
for players 12 and under who are competing in USTA Jr. Team Tennis Leagues and sanctioned tournaments. There are three mandatory stages on the Junior Development Pathway for advancing; Red, Orange, and Green, each with their own requirements, court size and type of ball. It is your responsibility to know your level and track your progress.
Being a good tennis parent can mean many different things. However, when we look at clusters of the top tennis players in the world, many of them possess a range of very similar, if not identical, personality traits that they learned from their coaches, their role models, and most of all their family.
TennisLink is the USTA's online tournament registration program. Search for a tournament by name, area, age division or level of play.
The Tournament Assistance Grant provides economically disadvantaged players with a discount on tournament entry fees. Approved Applicants are eligible to receive a refund equivalent to 50% of an entry fee for up to eight (8) USTA NorCal sanctioned tournaments in a calendar year (January 1-December 31).
USTA NorCal Committee Minutes
Stay up-to-date with the activities of our Junior Council and Sanction & Schedule Committee! You can see what we talk about during our meetings by reading the meeting minutes. This is a good way to stay up-to-date on what USTA NorCal is doing now and what we will be doing in the future.
USTA sanctioned tournament directors strive to offer a well run event for all of our players that is fair, fun and encourages participants to return. Parents and players, please complete the online evaluation form for every tournament in which you compete. Your feedback helps USTA NorCal to continually monitor and improve the quality of the tournaments we sanction. All responses are held private.
