What is Jr. Team Tennis?
USTA Jr. Team Tennis connects kids together in teams to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles against other teams within a league. It promotes social skills and important values by fostering a spirit of cooperation and unity, as well as individual self-growth. Also, it’s a fun environment for kids in which they learn that succeeding is really more about how they play the game – win or lose.
How does it work?
USTA Jr. Team Tennis is designed for kids ages 6-18 of any skill level. All you need is two teams to create a league. To sign up and play, become a USTA member if you aren't already, and then find a local league/team in your area. Matches can be held anywhere from a local park or school to a commercial or private club. Teams are preferably coed but can also be single gender (boys only or girls only).
There are 3 seasons of play in NorCal Jr. Team Tennis - Spring, Summer, and Fall.
Spring and Fall Leagues - Offer 10 and under tennis leagues that play using the quickstart format. Older age divisions are also offered but only in certain areas. Check the fall leagues page for more information.
Summer Leagues - Coed and same gender leagues in the age divisions below, including quickstart play for U10 and U8 divisions. Advancement to a sectional and national tournaments are offered in this program for certain age divisions. Coed Leagues - U8, U10, U12, U14 and U18. Same Gender - U12, U15 and U18
