Tennis Service Representative (TSR)
Serving Fresno & South Valley Counties
San Joaquin, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Stanislaus, Tulare, Mariposa, Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Mono, Inyo. Candidate must live in one of these counties
Job Summary:
Tennis Service Representatives are members of the USTA Northern California Section sales force. TSRs are the front line field representatives in the Northern California Section. TSRs work from a home office and travel their geographic territories on a weekly basis conducting personal sales calls. The primary duty of the TSR is to increase USTA membership based program participation and USTA membership. BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF USTA TENNIS PROGRAMS IS NECESSARY! Especially USTA junior programs such as Ten and Under Tennis, QuickStart Tennis, Junior Team Tennis.
Responsibilities:
- Generate USTA program awareness and interest in joining USTA membership based programs.
- Sell USTA membership based programs to a variety of organizations (such as: parks + rec, girl scouts, police activities league, and more).
- Work with organizations/players to ensure membership retention.
- Increase USTA membership growth in your geographic territory. Results measured weekly.
- Implement events and initiatives that lead to USTA membership growth. Help train your trainers/leaders.
- Assist tennis pro's, volunteers, park & rec, CTA's and others with USTA membership based program implementation.
- Find other creative ways within geographic territory to increase USTA membership based programs that lead to an increase in USTA membership growth.
Qualifications necessary:
- Strong academic background; baccalaureate degree and or strong work experience.
- Proven knowledge of USTA youth and adult programs (leagues, tournaments, U10, etc).
- Sell programs and help launch programs with client.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Sales experience; membership based sales preferred.
- Previous experience managing and working tennis events.
- Drive and travel your sector weekly; Valid CA Drivers license. Clear criminal + DMV background check.
- Highly motivated, strong organizational skills, fast learner, enthusiasm, optimism, and a team player.
- Candidate must live in one of the counties that they represent.
Compensation: 40K base plus quarterly incentive bonus eligibility.
This is a full time job (40 hours/week + overtime as needed due to meetings and events). Our full time jobs are eligible for a benefits package (medical, dental, life, ltd, ad&d, eap, and accrued paid time off) after a 90 day initial employment period.

Girls JV Tennis Coach
Mission San Jose High School, Fremont, CA
Term: August 13 - October 26, 2012
Monday-Friday, 3:15-5:15pm. 10-12.5 hrs/week.
Required: Effective inter-personal communication, motivational, organizational skills working with young athletes, parents, and coaching staff. Knowledge and/or experience playing or teaching tennis or coaching a sport. First Aid/CPR certification, background check, NFHS training, and TB test.
Desired: Tennis certification or training by USPTA, PTR, or USTA.
Duties: Lead and facilitate healthy team environment of 14-16 JV players. Plan, organize, and deliver weekly practice/lesson plan. Develop and manage team ladder. Inspire and cultivate best effort, positive attitude, and good sportwomanship. Prepare athletes for competition both physically, mentally, and emotionally. Coach fitness, technique, strategy, tactics in match play. Track and review player performance and progress. Assist Varsity coach.

Position Title: Roving Umpire
Major Duties:

Roving umpires must have knowledge of the rules because they may be called upon to problem solve at a moment’s notice.

Overrule clear mistakes when standing on the court WITHOUT a verbal appeal by the player
-
Solve on court problems with specific procedures and may give code violations
-
To become certified as a Sectional Umpire (the next step past being a rookie), an official must attend a Roving Clinic and work an additional 4 days as a volunteer rover under the supervision of experienced officials.
Qualifications:

Must attend a certification class annually

Umpires must attend a Sectional Umpire School and pass the test

A "Rookie" umpire must attend a Provisional Umpire School and pass the Provisional Umpire Test

Must be knowledgeable about the requirements for each age group or level of play

An eye exam is required every two years.

Must be customer service oriented.
