Wheelchair Tennis

Wheelchair Tennis Materials and Resources

The Wheelchair Tennis Committee promotes and develops recreational and competitive wheelchair tennis through education, training, and marketing information.  Available publications include Tennis in a Wheelchair and Wheelchair Tennis: Myth to Reality.  Videos and public service announcements are available for training, teaching and marketing purposes.  The USTA also provides information about tournaments, exhibitions, clinics and instructional camps for juniors and adults.

Wheelchair tennis is one of the most challenging of all wheelchair sports. Since 1979, the sport has been promoted in the US by the National Foundation of Wheelchair Tennis (NFWT). The Wheelchair Tennis Players Association (WPTA) formed in 1981 under the auspices of NFWT. 1998 marked the merger of the WTPA into the USTA structure. Since then the USTA has actively managed wheelchair tennis activities.  USTA National Wheelchair Tennis
