Do you have a free weekend and want a guaranteed tennis match? Play in a USTA NorCal Adult Tournament where you're always in the line-up!
The NorCal section offers sanctioned tournaments for players of all ages and abilities. While there are a variety of reasons why players enter tournaments, everyone agrees that the anticipation of a weekend tennis match can't be beat.
Some players just can't get enough competition and set their goal to qualify for the Grand Prix invitational at the end of the season. Throughout the year, tournament players earn Grand Prix points and the top eight in each division qualify for the section championships, the NTRP Grand Prix. Held at premiere locations throughout the Bay Area, the NTRP Grand Prix is always a festive weekend of top notch amenities, awards, food, fun and of course – competition, which includes matches played on pristine courts with a chair umpire overseeing all calls.
Tournaments also offer league players great preparation and practice for their team play. Try singles, practice with a new doubles partner, enter a higher NTRP level, test the competition in a different area.
It's not all about the competition, tournament sites are a pretty social place to hang out, have lunch, watch matches and catch up with tennis friends. Friends who've met on the tournament circuit will often coordinate their tournament travel. USTA sanctioned tournaments are offered all over Northern California, often in beautiful resort communities. Combine tennis and sight-seeing by planning a weekend getaway for you and your spouse or friends.
USTA Tournament Tennis offers local, sectional, regional, and even national competitive match play along with a fun social environment, for all ages and skill levels in the following divisions:
- NTRP (National Tennis Rating Program) Tournaments offers players the ability to play at their appropriate rating level.
