Each player shall have reached the minimum age for his league on or before December 31 of the calendar year in which such player plays his/her first match.

Warning to high school tennis players:
According to the rules of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) that govern high school sports in Northern California, you may lose your eligibility to play for your school if you play any matches for a league team during your high school tennis season.  Please check with your Athletic Director and coach if you are going to play on a league team.  Make sure you know the beginning and ending dates of your season and whether there are any specific league or school rules about playing in recreational leagues.  Note that the CIF rule does not restrict you from playing USTA League Tennis outside of your high school season.

Captain Permission

You can join a team any time during the regular team season. We have eight leagues from which to choose. A complete list of the current league teams is located on our team listings page. Click on the team level in which you would like to play. All teams from that level will appear. You can sort by area by clicking on Area on the top blue tool bar.

Once you have found a team interests you, click on the captain’s name. You will transfer onto the captain's player page where you will find a link to his email. Ask if more players are needed. Players must have the captain's permission before joining teams.

We also have volunteers called local area coordinators who can be very helpful to players looking for teams.
