General Captain Information
Captain Rights
As captain, you have certain rights that no one else has. To get to these, you must log in. This allows you to do captainy things that no one else can do. It allows you to post information that is for your team’s eyes only. To do all this, you must be logged in, and this takes a password. If you do not have your password, go to the MEMBER LOGIN link, top right of your Team Page or your Player Page and click there. We will email your password to you. With this password you are armed and dangerous-a force to be reckoned with.
Player Rights
Your players will need their passwords as well. This will not give them captain rights. Only you and your co-captain have those. Your players will have Player Rights and this includes posting their availability for your matches as well as seeing your planned line-ups for matches. This will save you many phone calls and emails, so be sure you teach them how to get their passwords.
Boring password?
Once you have the password we send you, you can personalize it. Go to your Player Page and click the MY INFORMATION link under your name. Here you can edit your password to something snazzy and memorable. You can also go there to update any membership information, or post a new email address or phone number. Tell your players about this as well.
Emailing your Teammates? Easy! Look on your Team Page, lower right under your roster. Click there to open an email already addressed to all your teammates.
Scheduling Information
SCHEDULING YOUR HOME MATCHES
Check the Local League Rules/Scheduling. (A link is in the drop down menu under League Information, on your Team Page.
You and your opponent may agree to play your match anytime before the season deadline. The weeks posted on the web are there only if you do not agree. A home captain cannot insist that a match be played outside of this designated week
DEADLINE FOR NOTIFYING YOUR OPPONENTS OF YOUR HOME MATCH ARRANGEMENTS:
MARCH 30, 9 P.M. for any match to be played the week of 4/6
April 5, 9 P.M. for all other matches
Notification means send an email to your opponents listing the dates and times of your home matches. You can do this with one email to all your away opponents.
- Do not post your match dates and think that you have notified your opponents. Send them an email.
- Do not post your match dates and then send your opponents an email telling them to look at what you have posted. Include the dates and times in that email, so they have permanent documentation of these arrangements.
CONTACTING ALL YOUR OPPONENTS AT ONE TIME
At the start of the season you can reach all the other captains most easily by logging on to your Team Page and using the Email Your Opponents program, linked under Captain Tools. You can select the captains and/or co-captains you want to contact, so you can send one email to all your away opponents, telling them your schedule of home matches.
CONTACTING INDIVIDUAL OPPONENTS
Use the Opponent Contact Info link in the drop down menu under Captain Tools for phone numbers and email addresses. Be sure you are logged in to your Team Page. You are prohibited from using this information for spamming.
POSTING YOUR MATCH SCHEDULE ON YOUR TEAM PAGE
Once you have emailed all your opponents and have all the wrinkles ironed out, you should post your match data on your Team Page. Log in and use the Post Match Dates program, linked under Captain Tools. You can always edit this if things change.

WILDCARDS
will be announced next month.
Super Senior match results and ratings.
As most of you know, Super Senior match results from 2008 were not included in the calculation of 2009 ratings. The decision not to include them was based on a pattern of problems that many Super players had- receiving very high ratings, despite average or even less than average winning records from the previous season. Of course, nothing is quite this simple and there are arguments against this policy. We hope to make the decision that benefits the majority of you.
Since ratings for players in this age range expire after two seasons, Super players who had those high 2007 ratings were able to adjust them this season by self rating. The same adjustment will be available next year to Supers who now have 2008 ratings they feel are too high.
Of course, matches played by Supers in the regular (50 years ) Senior league, the Mixed League or in the Adult league will count for ratings.
The same policy is being considered for the coming season, and we would like your input. We welcome your comments. Your input will be forwarded to our Adult League Committee.

Post Season Eligibility
If you are a competitive team with post season dreams, you are reminded that your players need to meet the 2 match eligibility requirement for post season play, starting with local league playoffs. This is a national requirement, so it cannot be waived. This will take careful line-up planning.
Log in, go to your Team Page, open the drop down menu under Captain Tools, and start reading. Every link has valuable information for you.
Go to the League Information drop down menu and open up the Captain’s Handbook. Lots of good information there.
More later. Stay tuned.
