Hi, Senior Captains,

Year End Ratings have been posted for 2009. This always raises a number of questions for players on rosters of Early Start Leagues.

Do my players have to move up?

The only players who have to move up are those whose new ratings, to the hundredth, are so far into the next level that they reach the definition of “clearly above level” (or Strike level). The truth is, very few Seniors make this kind of leap, and the few players who actually did (amazing feat!), have already been notified by email, with a copy to their Senior captain. If you did not get this email from us already today, you can relax. All your players may continue to play with the ratings they had when they signed up for your team.

Do my players get to play down?

Not exactly. Players on your team continue to use the ratings they had when they joined your team. Those ratings are posted on your roster. They may, however, use their new, lower ratings to join another Senior team.

Appealing a rating.

There is a link on our website that connects players to the National Appeal Process. No need to contact us directly. This is an automatic process: no fee, no arguing. If a rating is within the margin allowed by National USTA, the appeal will be granted. If it is not, no amount of pleading, bribery or medical documentation will change things.

Do not appeal someone else’s rating!
