Hi, Combo Captains,
The local league season is officially over for 90% of you. For those of you who have hung up your captain caps for this year, thank you so much for all you did. The season went smoothly, thanks to you, and we hope your teammates recognize this and appreciate you and throw a wonderful surprise party for you with lots of expensive and thoughtful gifts.
For those of you moving your teams into our first tier of championships-Local League Playoffs-we say congratulations! Your hard work is not over, but we know you are excited and looking down the road at fame and glory. And definitely a good time!
Here are some playoff reminders:
Scorecards have been posted.
· Home captains, get your date and time posted for that first round match. We assume you have already notified your opponent of these arrangements, but it is
good to have it on your web schedules as well.
· If you agreed ahead of time not to have a playoff, and you see a playoff scorecard, don’t panic. Just let us know and we’ll make it go away.
· If you want to play early and both captains agree, go for it. You may not play later than the designated weekend.
· Flights with just one round of playoffs use the first designated weekend, saving the second for (dare I say it?) a rain reschedule.
Playoff Eligibility
· Players who are on more than one playoff team may play for only one of those teams. Be sure your teammates are aware of this rule.
· You may not use anyone in a playoff match who has not played at least twice for your team during the local league. Your opponent will be checking this, so don’t slip here.
Second Round (If your flight has two rounds of playoffs)
Winners of the first round should post your results right away so we can get your second playoff card on the web. We’re not psychic, so get those results onto the web asap.
You have until 9 p.m. on the Monday after the designated first weekend to notify your opponent of the date and time of the second round. Do not wait for us to post a scorecard. Send him or her an email. This is a necessary and required courtesy, so don’t miss the deadline.
Good luck to you all. Enjoy your matches, treat each other with courtesy and good sportsmanship. May the best teams win!
