The 2009 USTA NorCal Combo Section Championships were completed despite heavy rains on Friday which cancelled one whole day of matches. “We were able to reschedule Friday’s matches throughout the weekend so that all were completed by Sunday afternoon,” said Tournament Director and Manager of Adult Leagues, Anna Elefant, “we owe many thanks to Marty Rothfels and the rest of the staff at Gold River for providing extra courts on Saturday and Sunday so that all matches could be played.”
Gold River Racquet Club also provided strong support and a beautiful setting for two days of competitive tennis.
Volunteers Dave Meegan, Jan Papps and Robert Walsh were invaluable to the success of the weekend.
Congratulations to all 34 teams who qualified to play at the NorCal Section Championships.
