Overview

Elementary School tennis

When you bring tennis into your school, whether you work at the elementary, middle or high school level, the benefits to the students transcend the boundaries on the court. You will help your students build self-confidence, learn teamwork and sportsmanship as well as lead healthy lifestyles. Now bringing tennis to your school is easier than ever, with resources and training available from the USTA.  Are you looking for a new sport to be offered in your physical education class besides the traditional games like kickball?

We provide all of the training and resources,  including portable nets that set up right on the gym floor.  To get tennis in your physical education classes, have your physical education instructor, athletic director, or principal contact the USTA Northern California Community Tennis Coordinator assigned to your area, listed below.  Let us bring tennis to your school!

The ADOPT-A-SCHOOL initiative utilizes the talent and energy of USTA volunteers, staff, tennis professionals and tennis enthusiasts to become ambassadors for promoting tennis in schools.  Existing local school associations will be targeted such as PTAs and PTOs in coordination with NJTL chapters, community Tennis Associations, parks and Junior Team Tennis providers to help institute tennis into physical education, QuickStart Tennis after school programs and No-Cut School tennis teams.  Individuals interested in helping to take tennis to the schools can download a variety of turn-key resource materials here on how to support tennis in the schools.
