ORANGE TENNIS TOURNAMENTS - new in 2012

As 2012 rolls along we are seeing greater numbers of young athletes playing RED (36ft) and ORANGE (60ft) tennis. Although change can be hard, USTA NorCal is already seeing great growth in our 10 and Under memberships and new players that are falling in love with the game. Many of our best coaches are in strong support of these exciting changes and this is helping grow our base of young players. Read More

NorCals McDonald Advances At Easter Bowl

Playing your “very, very, very” good friend is never easy, especially when you’re playing him on one of the biggest stages in junior tennis. That’s what happened once again to Mackenzie McDonald of Piedmont, Calif., who had not seen his best friend Nikko Madregallejo of Duarte, Calif., in a tournament match since April of 2009 when McDonald beat Madregallejo in the boys’ 14s final in straight sets on the same Rancho Las Palmas courts they met on Wednesday. NorCal's Macdonald Reaches Quarterfinals at ISC

The No. 4 seeded 16-year-old from Piedmont, Calif., beat John Richmond of Pawleys Island, S.C., 6-2, 6-2, in the boys’ 18s on Thursday to reach the quarterfinals of the eighth annual USTA International Spring Championships being played at the Home Depot Center. Read More

Changes to National Junior Tournament Schedule announced

The United States Tennis Association today announced a series of reforms to the National Junior Tournament Schedule designed to make the system more efficient, effective and affordable for current players and those who will enter the pipeline through the association’s 10 and Under Tennis initiative. The new system also aims to foster more local and sectional competition as well as fortify two historically important elite national championships in the summer—the USTA National Clay Court Championships and USTA National Championships. Represent NorCal at the 2012 Maze Cup! - NorCal vs SoCal

The Maze Cup is a prestigious annual team competition featuring the top juniors from Northern California and Southern California. It includes both boys' and girls' 18 and 16 divisions. The event is played using a 5-match Davis Cup/Federation Cup format, singles and doubles (four singles and one doubles). On court coaching is allowed. Northern California will host the Maze Cup at Alpine Hills Tennis and Swimming Club in Portola Valley, CA in 2012. Read More

2011 Junior Ranking Certificates

USTA Northern California will be sending out 2011 Ranking Certificates to players who finished in the top 10 Singles or top 5 Doubles in any of the ten USTA NorCal junior divisions (Boys’ and Girls’ 10, 12, 14, 16, & 18) at the end of the 2011 year. If you meet these requirements, you are eligible for a ranking certificate. Read More
