Getting Started - Where

USTA Northern California offers a unique  Find a Court, Event or Program  search feature to help you locate a court near home, near work or somewhere between you and your opponent.

Davie Tennis StadiumPark and Recreation

Park and Recreation departments, in the city where you live or work, maintain tennis courts and frequently offer tennis programs. Some cities have a staff of teaching professionals, providing clinics and private lessons. Contact your local Parks and Rec office to learn more about their facilities, programs, policies and costs. Some public facilities allow for individuals and leagues to reserve courts for an hour or an entire season.

Private ClubsMarin Tennis Club

Northern California has many private clubs throughout the section. Some clubs are member owned, some are privately owned. Initiation fees and monthly dues vary as dramatically as the amenities they offer. While private clubs require membership to use their courts, some clubs allow non-members to take lessons, clinics and participate on league teams, usually for an added fee. We recommend calling ahead to inquire on individual club policies.

Community Tennis Associations

A USTA Community Tennis Association (CTA) is “any incorporated, geographically defined, not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization that supports or provides programs which promote and develop the growth ofPATC tennis.” As an association, the group works to coordinate and maintain tennis programs and services; guaranteeing that they are open and accessible to all. Fueled by local volunteers, they exist to promote and develop the game of tennis in the community.

CTA’s may own their courts or have an affiliation with a tennis facility. Other CTA’s will rent courts from schools, colleges and even private clubs for their league teams, tournaments, programs and social activities. CTA’s usually require membership at a relatively low cost.
