Ratings
If you have a current USTA rating, you may not play below that level. We encourage you to play at your rating so each level stays competitive. Players who have finished at the top of the standings in previous seasons may play no more than .5 above their rating. If you do not have a rating, refer to the USTA Ratings Guidelines. Most USTA players play their rating so there’s no need to "play up" to get competitive matches.
Flex League match results do not count for NTRP ratings.
Commitment to play
If you register for Flex Leagues please be committed to play six or seven weekly matches over a nine week season. Your opponents are counting on you to play!
If you travel or suffer an injury, there are extra weeks at the end of the schedule to make up matches if your opponent agrees. But most players will prefer to play within the scheduled week.
We promote flexibility. Be prepared to offer a few available times to your opponent. If you’re only available to play 8 am on Sunday, that’s not very flexible!
What happens after you register?
About two weeks after registration closes, you’ll be notified via email that your weekly schedule has been posted to the Flex League site. Once logged in, you’ll have all of your opponents contact information and can start scheduling matches.
We do everything we can to geographically group players as close as possible. We also try to group players by their preference to play week-days, weekends or week-nights. But please be prepared to play on a weekend if you and your opponent can't agree on any other time.
If too few players register for a particular league, you’ll be offered the opportunity to join a different league or a full refund. Thank you for playing USTA Flex League!
