USTA NorCal Kids Jam, Where the Kids Rule!
Over 200 kids arrived at Stanford University’s Arrillaga Plaza for the ninth annual Kids Day at Bank of the West Classic on Monday, July 9. Each Year, the USTA NorCal Diversity Committee reaches out to community based organizations who serve youth and grassroot tennis programs by providing tennis and educations services with an invitation to this special day of tennis.
The plaza was filled with tennis activities featuring 10 and under tennis equipment, portable tennis walls and swingball sets. Kids and adults alike saw that tennis can be played anywhere. The giant NorCal fast serve booth is always a favorite, allowing kids to test their serve against the speed of pros.
The Bank of the West bear made a special appearance, dancing with kids and stopping for photos. WTA pros also made an appearance taking audience questions then sitting down to sign Bank of the West Classic posters.
Everyone was treated to lunch and snow cones. Finally, everyone received tickets to see the match courtesy of IMG.
