Are you a competitive player and want a rigorous tennis camp? Then this camp is for YOU!
USTA NorCal is offering multicultural tennis camp at San Jose State University on July 26-29, 2012.
The camp was created to provide girls ages 10-16 of ethnically diverse backgrounds the opportunity to improve their tennis skills in a camp environment with players of similar age and skills. This camp is NOT for beginners.
Geared toward intermediate* level players, the overnight residential camp houses participants in dorms on the San Jose State University campus. Along with the girls, four coaches/chaperones will also be staying overnight. The 2012 camp will feature daily tennis instruction and match play with experienced tennis professionals; the latest in fitness and nutrition; college preparatory information; play analysis to improve strokes and techniques and life skills. There will also be some fun night activities and a tour of the San Jose State campus.
Parent attendance at a workshop on Sunday, July 29 is highly recommended and will include informative lectures about junior tennis training and the competitive tennis pathway. The cost of the 3 night/4 day residential camp is $350 (training, housing and meals); an amazing deal considering similar camps cost over $1000! If accepted, there are a limited number of scholarships available for those that may need them.
