NorCal Seniors named to National Team

Morgan Shepherd, El Cerrito, Curtis Dunn, San Francisco and Rick Kepler, Aptos are three of the 40 players who will represent the United States at the 30th ITF Seniors World Team Championships hosted by Federacion Mexicana de Tenis. They will join the other top American tennis players (men and women) in age divisions 35-55 to compete March 29- April 3, in Mexico City, Mexico. The events will be held at the following five venues: Club Aleman de Mexico, The Reforma Athletic Club, Club Casablanca Lomas Verdes, Club Casablanca San Angel and Club de Racqueta El Yaqui.

CHAMISAL TO HOST US OPEN NATIONAL PLAYOFFS

The USTA Northern California Section announced today that Chamisal Tennis & Fitness Club will host the US Open National Playoffs Northern California Qualifying Tournament, May 17-23. The US Open National Playoffs begins with 16 sectional qualifying tournaments held throughout the country from April through June. The men’s and women’s champions from each of the sectional qualifying tournaments advance to the US Open National Playoffs – Men’s and Women’s Championships, which will be held in conjunction with Olympus US Open Series tournaments this summer.

NorCal Women's 45s take fourth at National Team Event- story submitted by Carolyn Nichols

The USTA/NorCal women’s 45 intersectional team placed fourth out of 13 teams at the USTA National Women’s Intersectional Team Event (NWITE) in Naples Florida on November 22nd. The team members were Carolyn Nichols, Lodi (co-captain), Phyllis Blackwell, Reno, Chris Ramsower-Pearlstein (co-captain), Walnut Creek and Debbie Croft, San Mateo. The seeded sections were Southern, Texas, Florida and NorCal in that order and that was the order in which the teams finished, a fine job by the seeding committee. The event was held at the Naples Tennis Club in Naples, Florida.

Tentative 2010 Adult Tournament Schedule Released

We are pleased to announce that the 2010 Tentative Adult Tournament Calendar has been released. We expect to have additions daily over the next week as we are awaiting the completion of a number of applications for existing tournaments.

Adult Ranking Changes for 2009- Head to Head

HTML clipboard USTA NorCal will be making a change in the calculation of its adult tournament rankings starting January 1, 2009. The following singles and doubles lists will now be calculated by the WinStar algorithm. NTRP Seeding, Open Standings, Senior Standings, Family Standings and all final rankings.
