2012 ACES Dinner

2012 ACES, Awards Celebrating Excellence in Service
The Eighth Annual ACES awards dinner returned to Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery on February 3rd, 2012. The ACES, Awards Celebrating Excellence in Service, were presented in six categories and celebrated the contributions our members have made to tennis in Northern California.
During the cocktail reception, award winners, guests, staff and volunteers, networked and shared their appreciation for tennis. Everyone had a story to tell about how the sport has impacted their life or brought positive change in their community. Bonnie Taylor summed up the feelings of her fellow Captains of the Year when she said, "I am incredibly grateful to have been honored for a task I love."
As dinner began, emcee Dick Gould, Director of Tennis at Stanford University welcomed everyone and thanked all of the individuals and organizations being honored. He made special note of the importance of the organizations and individuals who work to bring tennis to diverse and underserved populations, especially for our youth.
Wheelchair, Diversity, Tournament and League ACES were presented by the respective staff and committee representative. Each noted the importance of their volunteers in growing membership, programs and participation. USTA NorCal President of the Board, Michael Cooke and Executive Director Steve Leube presented the final awards of the evening, Service to Tennis, to those who have had a lifetime impact.
