The 2011 USTA NorCal Jr. Team Tennis Sectional Championships is in the books! 

 

Over 500 players and 50+ teams competed in this years event throughout the Fresno area.  The event began with match play on Friday Aug. 5th, accompanied by a team dinner kick off event hosted at Sierra Sport and Racquet Club.  Fresno area racquet clubs, Sierra Sport, Sierra on Blackstone, Fig Garden, Sunnyside Health and Tennis, Copper River Country Club all were great hosts for this event.

 

New this year was Northern California's first ever coed division at the 18's intermediate level!   One team survived the Fresno heat and great tennis to take home the honor of qualifying for the Jr. Team Tennis National Championships in Surprise Arizona!  Congratulations to all NorCal coed teams for bringing a new element of excitement to sectionals!

In addition to the coed division, our same gender advanced level teams battled on the court for 3 days across all age divisions.  All of these teams had their eye on earning a spot to the upcoming Gar Glenney Cup, which features NorCal's best JTT teams against SoCal's best in an annual statewide competition.

 

After some great tennis and close finals matches, the following same gender teams took down the hardware:

Conso. Champions - Crow Canyon
