2011 Mixed Doubles Section Championships

So what is up with this Northern California weather?  What should have been a perfect June weekend for tennis competition, wasn't!

The 2011 Mixed Doubles Section Championships held at Stanford's Taube Tennis Complex fell victim to a full day of rain on June 4th.  Leaving just Sunday to pack in a full schedule of play, the 2.5 and 6.0 flight teams were willing and able to play all of their matches to determine a champion.  Laney College MX2.5 and Roseville CTA 6.0 are 2011 Mixed Doubles Section Champions and were given their travel instructions for the USTA League National Mixed Championship to be held in Tucson, AZ in November.

The7.0, 8.0 and 9.0 level teams waited a week before returning to the courts in pursuit of the title.  The last rounds of section championship matches were completed on Sunday, June 12th at Laguna Creek Racquet Club in Elk Grove.  The 10.0 level teams will be completing their matches on their own within the next few weeks.
