Justin Gimelstob, Top ranked junior, UCLA alum, former ATP player, member of the ATP Player's Council and highly regarded television commentator on the Tennis Channel will serve as host to NorCal Juniors Monday, July 11 at the beautiful Seascape Sports Club in Aptos, home of the $100,000 Comerica Bank Challenger (July 11-17).
Justin was on the courts with selected NorCal juniors, along with other ATP players, running a morning clinic followed by a question and answer forum discussing college tennis, playing on the tour, and working in the sports industry. All NorCal juniors were invited to observe the clinic, attend the forum and they received a complimentary ticket to watch the tournament matches for the day.
The $100,000 Comerica Bank Challenger in beautiful Aptos, California, is just forty minutes from San Jose, on the Pacific Ocean.
This is the 24th annual Comerica Bank Challenger tournament held at Seascape Sports Club in Aptos, making it the longest running Challenger event in the United States, with one of the top purses. For 22 years, some of the brightest future stars of tennis have come through Aptos and left their indelible mark on what is now the longest running Pro Circuit Tennis Tournament in United States history.
The two-dozen international flags perched high above Seascape Sports Club are a year-round reminder of the stellar international tennis that explodes here on center court every summer. This year’s 100K Comerica Bank Challenger professional tennis tournament runs from July 9 – July 17, offering day-long fun for families, tennis fans, and anyone who admires world-class athletes in action.
Tennis greats who have made the trek to Comerica Challenger include: James Blake, The Bryan Brothers, Andy Murray, Michael Chang, Marty Fish, Sam Querrey, Milos Raonic, Ivo Karlovic, and John Isner. Each year, the event draws professional players from over a dozen countries.
Each year the event draws players ranked as high as #60 – 300 in the world. This year’s entry list will be available online June 24th.
For those of you who haven’t made your way to Seascape in July over the last two decades, the great seating at Seascape Sports Club's Center Court makes watching these guys an up-close and personal experience, while the Club's family-owned, friendly atmosphere makes it a pleasant day for everyone.

Monday July 11, 2011 - USTA Kid's Day and USTA Member Appreciation Day. Quickstart Junior Team Tennis League players ( of any age ) are also invited to watch Pro Circuit Tennis for FREE all day. There will be Quick Start tennis, a fast serve booth, and a free tennis lesson with the pros.
Tuesday, July 12, 2011 - Adult League, Flex League and Junior Team Tennis League Day. All Adult League and Flex League participants can watch Pro Circuit Tennis matches for FREE all day. 10:30 am to 12:00 pm for Juniors and 1:00 to 2:30 pm for adults
Wednesday, July 13, 2011 – Clay Court Day. FREE Clay Court Clinics for adults and juniors.
Sunday, July 17, 2011 – Wheelchair Tennis and Senior Sunday. All USTA Members 50 years of age and over will receive a 50% discount off the Sunday ticket price.
