Twenty two thousand players, over thirteen hundred teams, it all came down to the line on Sunday at the 2010 Adult Section Championships in Carmel at the Carmel Valley Ranch Resort, the Chamisal Tennis and Fitness Club and in Pebble Beach, the Beach and Tennis Club.
Congratulations are in order to the eleven teams who won their flights and now wear the USTA NorCal Section Championship crowns. Next stop for them: The USTA National Championships and for the 5.5 men, the Open/5.5 National Invitational.
Each year over 325,000 players nation wide participate in USTA League tennis, the largest organized tennis program in the the United States. The Adult League tennis division is the largest of all the league programs. It is played throughout the seventeen sections. This time of year Adult League Section Championships are running all over the country. Winners progress to the 2010 National Adult League Championships that take place every weekend throughout the month of October at Tucson, AZ, Indian Wells and Rancho Mirage, CA.
