USTA members - Save Almost 20% at the Lair of the Bear Tennis Camp, August 31 - September 7

Is there a tennis heaven? Yes, and it’s in the Sierras at 5,600 feet! USTA week at Lair of the Bear, the first of its kind, will take place August 31-September 7, 2008. It is not necessary to be a Cal alum to participate and USTA members will save almost 20% on their stay.

We know how tennis can make a difference, but our charge as advocates is to convince decision-makers in the public, private and non-profit sectors of this in order to gain their support. You are our most underused resource, but our most valuable asset.

Los Gatos Team Wins National Super Senior 60 League Tennis Championships

The women’s team from Rinconada Hills Racquet Club in Los Gatos, California, representing USTA Northern California, captured the national title at the USTA League presented by Chrysler 8.0 Super Senior 60 National Championships held at the Mobile Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama, April 25-27, 2008. Congratulations to captain Carol Shields, co-captain Ann Bardrick and the entire team.

UC Berkeley Finishes Second at the 2008 USTA National Campus Championships; Read Hannah's Blog

Three USTA Northern California teams -- UC Berkeley, UC Davis and Stanford -- traveled to Cary, North Carolina, April 17-19, for the 2008 USTA National Campus Championships Presented by Tennis Warehouse. The Championships are the pinnacle of the USTA's Tennis On Campus recreational tennis program. With teams from the 17 USTA Sections, including USTA Northern California Campus Champions, UC Berkeley, and semifinalists, UC Davis and Stanford, the fun and competition is not to be missed! Read Hannah Zarkar's blog from the Championships. Hannah was competing on the UC Berkeley team that lost to the Texas in the final on April 17, 2008.
